Scherf Farms Pork

We only sell pork raised on our farm in Michigan City,
Indiana. This guarantees the source of your pork and
the quality of life of the animal. We raise the Tamworth
breed of hogs. This heritage breed pig thrives in
outdoor conditions. Our pigs are raised in limited
numbers on woodland pasture to give the pigs plenty of
roots and top soil to forage. Our pigs main diet consists
of a ground corn based feed and woodland pasture
forage. We do not feed sub-therapeutic anti-biotics,
however, if an animal is ever sick or injured, which is
seldom, and an anti-biotic is necessary to ensure the
animals health we will use them. We would never hold
back the use of an anti-biotic if the animals quality of
life would be adversely affected. We NEVER use growth
hormones, period. We sell pork cuts, whole hog
sausage, whole pork and side of pork.
